Just one of the millions (billions?) of people celebrating today’s historic event. He was our guide and host when we visited his Masai village. This boma has no electricity. No running water. No roads to speak of. Yet here he is, Obama button* and all.
Everywhere we went, people asked where we were from. A simple call-and-response would ensue:
President Obama, the world is watching!
*Obama paraphernalia was prolific in Tanzania. Had we known, we probably could have brought a stack of bumper stickers and a sack of buttons and used the items as currency instead of the official money.
