Lime blossoms smell divine.

While K. was in Argentina last week, I was out inspecting the lime tree (which is really his baby–I water only when he’s away). Lo and behold, there was this:

I promptly squealed with glee and snapped a picture to email off to Buenos Aires.

But for several days, no changes. Until this week:

There had been a flower the night before, but by the time there was morning light, the petals had dropped. Fortunately, that very same evening, I came home to the lovely sight of more blossoms:

And I took a sniff…they smell luscious!! I didn’t think the tree would fruit this year, but we might luck out! The tree apparently loves the morning sun on our balcony and has already shot up a few inches with new growth, so we’ll see!!
